Birds and Animals, Our
Neighbours
Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar teaches us in his books, Birds
and Animals, Our Neighbours, to regard other species as "neighbours
on earth", due the same dignity and respect we give our
fellow human beings. This books beautifully reflects the
author's philosophy of Neohumanism, which holds that all-encomposing,
perfect love is the essence of spiritual realisation, and
the highest stage to which humans can aspire. In this book,
the author show his passionate love and compassion for all
forms of life, and inspires us to likewise protect birds and
animals while honouring their rights and their presence on
earth.
Slaughtering rhinos, people have eaten the tender meat
concealed under the cover of their hard, thick hide.
Although the rhino is a powerful animal, its eyesight is
very poor. Hence it is very easy to kill this animal.
Although it looks ferocious, it is a feeble-minded creature.
It loves the young, especially human youngsters. Yet due to
its ferocious appearance, humans have unnecessary feared it
and have killed it.....People of ancient times believed that
medicine made from rhino's horn could rejuvenate them.
Because of this wrong conception, the poaching of rhinos
continue to this day... The medicinal property of a rhino's
horn neither is a verified truth nor has any scientific
basis. Is it not utterly abominable to exterminate an
innocent creature due to some mistaken belief about it?
